It was when visiting the beautiful island of Santorini, for my uncles wedding, that I first became interested in photography. Capturing the beautiful vista from atop the hill where venue was, I felt a great sense of pride in the image captured.
For many years this love of photography was accompanied with an admiration for the natural world. Watching all manner of documentaries inspired an adventurous nature and a desire to document these. While this admiration continues I find that my creative interests have pivoted.
After a long break form photography and videography, with a brief diversion into DJing, I recently returned to my roots so to speak. Having started reading more of late, the proficiency with which authors tell stories has fascinated me. The bulk of my writing, to date, has been factual and concise with little flair. However, having watched some brilliant you tubers namely Isabel Paige. The power of storytelling in her videos shines through. While I don\’t think my first attempt for a while is even close or in the same category. I hope it reignites my desire to tell stories visually.
There is a lot I would change looking back but it was refreshing to do something creative and also enjoy some time away from distractions.
