Winter is Coming

The first storm of winter blew through the other day day, the wind was ferocious felling trees and wreaking havoc. It brought with it the first dustings of snow and the bitter cold, signalling the end of Autumn.

October and November have been busy, even manic at times. Changes in life have been hard fought with varying degrees of success. I’ve spent much time thinking, somewhat reclusively about life, goals and ambitions. I think the gradually darkening nights affect us all in someway, even if we don’t recognise it. I’ve taken great joy in getting out and exploring, but also taking time to spend with family and cook. Pizza was on the menu this week with great results and welcomed praise, slowly but surely I’m perfecting my dough.

The short days mean I’ve see many a sunrise and sunset, too many from my desk where I’ve worked until dark. The mornings however have provided some delightful golden light, that illuminated the golds and browns of the leaves before they fall. The unusually mild and humid Autumn mean fungi were a plenty.

I’ve had little time to make videos of late, but equally some great ideas to be developed. I did take some time however one cold, brisk morning to have a stroll among the pines and capture the below snippet. I’ve enjoyed greatly reconnecting with my creative side and feel that I improve with every photo, video or post. Learning to think differently and outside the box to capture unique perspectives or view points.

This Autumn has felt normal compared to the seasons of the past two years with life returning somewhat to normal. I’ll miss it but hope that winter provides the opportunity to reconnect with friends, family and passions.
